Howdy...I was wondering how folks with alphas have found their reliability?  How often do they require service?  Unfortunately I discovered that mine (which arrived at the end of last year) had a faulty key, and it has now been with the shop for two weeks.

Does anyone know if there's a way to program a key for momentary action (only active while pressed)?

Does anyone know if there's a way to program a key for momentary action (only active while pressed)?  In particular I'm interested in setting one or more up to set the octave realtime (and retrigger or adjust any active notes) when pressed, then revert when released. Thanks, sb

Wondering if anyone has run into this issue - I've been using Jack with OS X to route audio from EigenD to Ableton Live and today it stopped working.  I can still see JackRouter in the EigenD audio settings, but when I select it the buffer and sampling rate fields are blank, and it doesn't work.  Jack is still working normally for Live.  So far I've tried reinstalling Jack and EigenD to no avail.

So my alpha finally arrived yesterday (hooray!) and it quickly became apparent that the first order of business is to settle on a key layout (or two) for practicing.  Is there a standard one that folks here are using?  Any good references along those lines?

Question about octave changing - one of the things that bothers me about the Pico is how octave changing behaves - on my EWI, when I'm playing a note and change octaves, the octave changes immediately mid-note. On the Pico, I have to start a new note for the octave change to take effect. Does anyone have any ideas about how to get around this? I thought about doing something with pitch bend, but then I'm limited to the pitch bend range of whatever is being controlled... Thanks, Seth

Hi

Hi, Just got word that the alpha build is proceeding, so I'll have one later this year...very excited. One thing I've run into with the pico I was wondering if anyone had insight into - as an EWI player I was able to achieve very short articulations using my tongue to modulate my breath as I did as a saxophonist.  I'm having trouble doing the same with the pico mouthpiece; something about the way it channels the air and the width of the opening makes it very difficult to tongue rapidly.  Has anyone found a way around this? Thanks!

New pico user here, waiting anxiously to see if my order for an alpha gets filled. Been trolling the group for a while...pleasure to meet you all! One question to start...is it possible to connect two harps to a single eigend instance? One crazy thought I had if there aren't enough alpha orders for the build is to get two taus and attach them back to back, which appeals to me as an ewi player used to using my thumbs for octaves and pitch bend.
