here's an odd question for those with a Tau.

here's an odd question for those with a Tau. If you knock on the body of the Tau is if you were knocking on a door, do the key lights flicker? They certainly do with mine. After the failure of my Tau in performance last June, I set it aside for four months. On returning to it now, I find its misbehavior has not changed. It still will run only for three or four minutes before either going completely dark or reverting to one green blinking light on the bottom key of the left column of keys. Sometimes, it will spontaneously recover for a few seconds only to go dark again. I've tested the cable between the Tau and the base station with continuity tester. It's just fine. I tried various USB cables, no change in behavior. I've updated the software to the most recent from TheTechnobear/EigenD github repo. Still the exact same behavior. Honestly, I'm about ready to feed it to the wood chipper.

well, my gig at PyCon 2016 was extraordinarily well received, but my Eigenharp Tau utterly failed. I loaded my setup via EigenD, it would work fine for 90 seconds and then go dark. Occasionally, it would spontaneously start working again for a new moments, only to go dark and silent seconds later. i had to rush to replace its role in the presentation at the last minute. When i get home from the conference tomorrow, i'll try to figure out what's going on with it. so sad that i didn't work. https://youtu.be/bSfe5M_zG2s

Are there any Python programmers in this group going to US Pycon 2016 in Portland at the end of May?  I'd love to get together to talk about the Eigenharp & its software. At the conference, I am giving the closing keynote address.  My Eigenharp Tau, while not specifically featured, will be in a supporting roll in this off-the-wall musical presentation.

Looking for some assistance with "MIDI Monitor" with a Tau.  I've been quite successful with other Workbench projects, but anything with MID Monitor has proven unsuccessful.  I'm using the release 2.1.2-community and followed the Mark Harris video https://youtu.be/ojt_Ot9soz8 .  In the video of the Workbench, I can see there is a connection from MidiMonitor -> output -> Light Output   cabled to  "Keygroup 1".   Since "Keygroup 1" is never expanded in the video, I cannot see where it connects.  When just wiring it up, from collapsed agents, that "light output" connection is not automatically made.  Any attempt to manually connect it renders the "no matching inputs and outputs" message. Any got any advice?

My adapter to mount the Eigenharp Tau to a photographic tripod Manfrotto Quick Release mount is now in a complete form, ready to be tried by anybody. The design can be downloaded from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1229107 Feedback is welcome. https://goo.gl/photos/oiEyPYNP2gDwtR3dA

After only 48 hours of owning an Eigenharp Tau, it has become obvious that my old man neck and arthritic shoulders are incompatible with the Tau neck strap. I want to stand to play, so I decided that I needed to find something to hold the Tau for me. Using a CAD program and a 3D printer, I've created a Tau to Manfrotto Quick Release Tripod adapter. With the Manfrotto ball joint head on a standard photographic tripod, the Tau can be positioned perfectly and solidly in just about any position. This prototype design printed in PLA plastic is not quite as strong as I'd like it to be. In the coming weeks, I'll revise the design and then send it to shapeways.com to have it printed in metal. If anyone is interested, I'll share the design on thingiverse.com . https://goo.gl/photos/Qy6ySeGZHvFhXxwU9
