I am still having troubles with my Egienharp Tau and would like to see what the community can think of. The problem is that the Tau isn't communicating with EigenD so this is what I know. 1. The program EigenD starts up and seems to run just fine. 2. The eigen box shows a green light. 3. The Tau has the flashing green light indicating lack of communication. 4. There is no obvious damage to any of the chords and I have taken  good care of them. What have I tried to do. 1. Restart the program. 2. Reconnect the chords. 3. I tried reinstalling EigenD in the past, but it has been awhile. I am using Windows 8.1 and "C:\Program Files (x86)\Eigenlabs\release-2.0.74-stable\bin\eigend.exe" What I think is that it is either a driver issue, or a chord problem. I may be way off though because I don't have much experience with troubleshooting. Since I would need to order a new chord if that is the case, I would like to try all other possibilities first. Thanks ahead of time for any...

Howdy...I was wondering how folks with alphas have found their reliability?

Howdy...I was wondering how folks with alphas have found their reliability?  How often do they require service?  Unfortunately I discovered that mine (which arrived at the end of last year) had a faulty key, and it has now been with the shop for two weeks.

This Dualo clip made me chuckle.

This Dualo clip made me chuckle. It is perhaps along the lines of what some of you had in mind when you suggested doing something like Pac-man on the LinnStrument? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPBHAmxm_gc&feature=share

Speaking of interesting alternative controllers. The Space Palette by Tim Thompson

Speaking of interesting alternative controllers. The Space Palette by Tim Thompson  I ran across this video from Burning Man after seeing Tim's name on a post by Geert Bevin of a video originally posted on KVR LinnStrument forum demonstrating LinnStrument control of a 4-track looper. Tim's name and signature is third (after Roger Linn and Geert) on the back of my LinnStrument Originally shared by Tim Thompson Space Palette at Burning Man 2014, in Illumination Village.

I find these kind of things inspiring, some interesting ideas for control surfaces influencing sound.

Synth Squad 2 - VpC midi

Synth Squad 2 - VpC midi  just in case I forget ...  it looks likely SS2 will support voice per channel, thanks to the partnership with Roli. When I asked about VpC midi,  Angus from FXP said: "Good Q thetechnobear. We made a special edition for Roli Labs which has four lanes of one note per channel control (pitchbend, x, y, pressure and a spare). So that's likely to be carried forward in v2." ... so keep an eye out for the demos, and remind me if I forget (again) Edit: small update, apparently it will be on all synths in the 'pack'

Hi everyone!

Hi everyone!  Just got my Pico today - super pumped to start playing with it, and to start reading the posts and watching the videos and get down with my eigenharp!

Axoloti - interesting indiegogo campaign.

Axoloti - interesting indiegogo campaign. (also featured on Synthtopia) This looks fascinating, basically a hardware board linked to a Reaktor/Max modular building environment. Its like a Nord Modular environment, but outputting compiled code to board. which makes it standalone. all code is open source! (patcher is written in java so is cross platform)  Ive been in contact with the developer, it supports midi channels being pushed to sub patches, which means VpC is possible. He has also implement poly pressure and poly pitchbend at the hackday with a Roli Seaboard. Interested… I am… Im in, and order a quad pack … really excited at the opportunities that this will open up for both my Eigenharp and Soundplane! (disclaimer: of course crowd source projects are not risk free, as you don't see the product till is delivered… so please bare this in mind) https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/axoloti-a-digital-audio-platform-for-makers/x/8136145

Mark Harris, on your Soundplane, how do you find the navigation and experience without the LED lights that you have on the Eigenharp?  That seems to be one of the significant differences between the Soundplane and the LinnStrument.  It seems obvious enough with the dots - kind of like a guitar.  I was curious about the actual experience.  It would seem to be hard to play by feel, but I suppose with practice perhaps not.  What has your experience been so far?  The Eigenharp is narrow enough that the keys can fall "all under hand" for each measurement and estimation if you aren't looking.

Roli Seaboard experiences

Roli Seaboard experiences I found this a fascinating read : http://www.nathanaeliversen.com/ Its great how he is treating is as a different instrument, and is very clear about the adjustments he is making to cope with the Seaboard. http://www.nathanaeliversen.com/

How much experience have people had flying with an Alpha, particularly internationally?

How much experience have people had flying with an Alpha, particularly internationally? Any grief from airlines? Were you able to bring it on board? I'll be starting a tour in the UK in 4 weeks and unless I can find a rental somewhere, I'm going to have to figure out how to get mine over.
