Hi .

Hi . After spending time on the web, there are not a lot of possibilities to play a Pico with (only) an IPad (2). Does anybody has a real solution ? Thank's and happy Christmas and new year !!!

MEC source code

MEC source code Id like to support +Geert Bevin initiative of creating a new solution for the Eigenharp (and other controllers) that is simple to develop for, and completely open source. In the spirit of collaboration and cooperation, Ive a small present for the Eigenharp community just in time for the holidays... Today, Ive released the source code for MEC (Micro Expression Controller) which contains code Ive been working on for quite awhile (in different guises) Im not suggesting this is used, but perhaps some elements may (or may not) be useful, so very much take and discard as you wish. current state: - runs on mac/linux (including PI/other micro controllers) - outputs midi and OSC - supports Eigenharp pico, tau, alpha * - supports Madrona Labs Soundplane - initial support for push 2 - initial key layout support for Eigenharps some notes: - Tau is untested (I don't have one) - Pico is 'stubbed' out, I need to add a license free 'decoder' support (this is worki...

Happy holidays to everyone on this community.

I'm curious, how many of you still really use the EigenD features, compared to plain MIDI, OSC and AudioUnit/VST hosting. Who uses the recorder, the drum loops, the built-in clarinet and cello, the modular synth, talkers, stage, belcanto, ...?

In the quest to play more with physical models I revived a dinosaur from the past: Tassman 4.

In the quest to play more with physical models I revived a dinosaur from the past: Tassman 4. It still sounds great and there isn't much else like it out there when it comes to modular synths with focus on physical modelling, even in late 2016 (well, Kaivo and Chromaphone, but these are not fully modular). And I am glad to report that it works in VpC mode with Eigenharp! You can define the midi channel for each (mono) keyboard or modulation source (as well as for midi learning of the knobs that strangely are not available as inputs in the builder view but only can be automated in the context menu of the knobs in the player view). For some reason I don't fully understand yet you then have to set the global MIDI channel to 1 instead of Omni - then VpC works. For Omni all events are copied to all channels (as expected), for 1 strangely all events stay on their channels as they come from EigenD. (Which might be a bug originally, but it's great in this case!) Very positive surpr...

While we are at unusal expressive electronic instruments - the "Chimera" looks also interesting!

While we are at unusal expressive electronic instruments - the "Chimera" looks also interesting! https://open-music-kontrollers.ch/chimaera/about/ Quite the fans of open source synthesizers occurrently, interesting LV2 plugins they have! This reminds me of the still-unread SuperCollider book on my shelve... Could be really interesting for physical modelling stuff... https://open-music-kontrollers.ch/chimaera/about/

TouchKeys general release, now a commercial company...

TouchKeys general release, now a commercial company... perhaps a way to add a bit more 'life' into your existing keyboard. limitations are: - not 3d... missing pressure, which is probably what I use most. - seems a little expensive, DIY kit - 49 keys = 600 GBP, 61 keys = 780 GBP. - install looks a bit 'fiddly' ... sticking things nice and straight to 61 keys, thats a lot to get wrong/right. tricky, if you have a hardware synth which your using as a keyboard controller too, perhaps this is a nice way to extend its usefulness as a 'master controller', whilst not taking up more space in your studio. sure, its not going to turn it into a Seaboard, but still, it would be fun to say control u-he diva with cutoff on Y from your keyboard. anyway, more MPE exposure, 2017 is looking hot :) http://touchkeys.co.uk http://touchkeys.co.uk

Have been playing around with the SynthMaster 2.8 update which now features MPE support.

Have been playing around with the SynthMaster 2.8 update which now features MPE support. Also modulation is now possible with drag'n'drop. Particularly the "physical simulations" with comb filters etc. work very well with Eigenharp now. This synth has really gone a long way (and my license from 2010 is still valid for the latest version, which is great!) Mark Harris et.al . I'm having problems installing the new EigenD 2.1.7 on my Win10 machine(s). I first tried on my main desktop, which has been running Community 2.1.1 rock solid since its release (thank you, Mark!). I not only couldn't get it to load, afterwards 2.1.1 and 2.0.74 also stopped working. (After my attempt to install 2.1.7, Revo Uninstaller showed every instance of EigenD as if it was a new install, so it appears the 2.1.7 installer makes changes to all previously installed versions....) Looks like the 2.1.7 install stalled as it searched for VST plug ins. I have many, and some are flaky, so.... Then I tried an install on a brand new Win 10 machine which had only a single VST installed. Install stalled in exactly same location. (Didn't freeze machine, just stopped making progress.) Waited several hours. Attached below see screen shot and also photo of the install window progress text. As this was a clean install, I first installed most recent Windows ...

Sponsoring a nice Windows development machine for Mark Harris.

Sponsoring a nice Windows development machine for Mark Harris. Hi fellow EigenD users. The big majority of the EigenD development and maintenance work has volunarily been done by Mark for more than a year now. Even though he personally is solely using Macs he has also released Windows builds for us PC users by building them in Virtual Machines - which is cumbersome - even more for anything that is related to actually running EigenD, e.g. for driver related stuff. As appreciation for his work on EigenD in general and the completely altruistic support for us Windows users I would propose to sponsor him a Windows machine that is actually fun to work with. What do you guys think? This posting can also act as a barometer to determine how much interest there still is for a Windows version of EigenD. (So if you are interested in a Windows build but do not want to contribute money at this time please also drop a note) Of course this would just be a present from the community to Mark, no obliga...

New EigenD release (2.1.7) now available for macOS 32 &64 bit, Win32, Linux 64bit, Linux ARM 32bit

New EigenD release (2.1.7) now available for macOS 32 &64 bit, Win32, Linux 64bit, Linux ARM 32bit UPDATE: Ive updated the win32 version, so that it no longer requires runtime-1.0.1, it uses 1.0.0 like previous versions. Id recommend updating , and then you can delete runtime-1.0.1 https://github.com/TheTechnobear/EigenD/releases/tag/community-2.1 . Please read included release notes for important information and installation notes. changes: - updated to latest Juce framework (4.3.0) - improved 64 bit support macOS - fix macOS 32 bit to python from /usr/local/pi - improved linux build - fix eigenD hanging on exit - workbench: select agent menu, pressing letter selects first agent - updated release notes and introduce install notes into doc.
