So, I set to downloading all the latest and greatest from the Eigenlabs website - how come the support kit is now 3GB of download (compared to the 380MB that was on the DVD that came with my Pico in the first place)... what have I been missing all these years??! I'll install on my Win10 laptop and my Sierra MBP and report back...

I've run into an issue I'm unable to solve.

I've run into an issue I'm unable to solve. If I load a setup in EigenD, everything is fine. BUT, if I then open up Workbench I get a blinking green light within a minute or so. It also happens if I load MainStage after starting EigenD. However, If I first load MainStage, and don't switch patches or open Workbench, it works. Community release 2.1.2 on OSX 10.11.6. I have tried to reinstall EigenD and remove all my setups, etc. All I need to do to get the error is to load a blank setup, open workbench and add the alpha manager. If I wait a minute or so it will fail. To make things even stranger, the Tau default setup don't appear to have this issue. I can load that setup and open both workbench and MainStage without getting the light. I am all out of ideas. I was working on a new setup when this started happening. But my "old" setup I haven't touched in months have the same problem. As far as I know I have not made any changes on my mac in quite some time, ...

I'm planning to pick up my Pico again after a looong absence.

I'm planning to pick up my Pico again after a looong absence... I have a choice of 2 computers to install the software onto - one is a Dell i7 laptop running Windows 10 and the other a 2014 i5 Macbook Pro Retina running El Capitan (but I may upgrade to Sierra soon...). Both have SSDs and plenty of RAM, so the choice is mainly about which OS I am likely to have better luck with! (For example, I will be installing from scratch - does this present any problems in Mac land now that the OS is much pickier about things going into /usr ?) Any thoughts would be welcome! Thanks in advance!

I'm having trouble building linux EigenD for 2.1.5 or 2.1.6 on arm7 (raspberry pi - arm 32bit).

I'm having trouble building linux EigenD for 2.1.5 or 2.1.6 on arm7 (raspberry pi - arm 32bit). in both cases, the compiles all work fine, but when the linker goes to assemble things, it chokes on the pico decoder. tmp/bin/libpico_decoder_1_0_0.so: error adding symbols: File in wrong format I've had a look through to see if there is any x86 specific compile instructions in the make config, but I am afraid that I'm not too familiar with SCons. I'm a gnu autoconf cowboy. I also don't see anything platform specific in the code. I'm sure that all I need to do is add a linker flag, but not sure where or what it is expecting. Wondering if anyone might know what I am missing. Where in an SCons build can I specify compiler and flags? I'm sure if I just passed an explicit --arch=armv7 that the linker would be happy. I'm still running 2.1.2 which builds fine and does what I need, but it would be nice to know moving forward what I should be doing. If any...

I recently built EigenD for raspberry pi, and it works great for my setups.

I recently built EigenD for raspberry pi, and it works great for my setups. (I don't use the convolution engine - which it doesn't have the power for), but my dream of using the Tau headless are still out of reach. EigenD will not launch without X running, so a headless setup where I just plug in the Pi and go doesn't work. I still need keyboard and mouse. So I got to thinking, before I try building something myself to fake it out, that I should check to see if someone else has done this already. Mark Harris for example. More or less I'm wondering about running the core of EigenD as a daemon / service, and if its possible to have a CLI interface to it. It would be wonderful if I could also enter Belcanto on my tau and not have to worry at all about looking at a screen during a performance. Has anyone attempted anything like this?

here's an odd question for those with a Tau.

here's an odd question for those with a Tau. If you knock on the body of the Tau is if you were knocking on a door, do the key lights flicker? They certainly do with mine. After the failure of my Tau in performance last June, I set it aside for four months. On returning to it now, I find its misbehavior has not changed. It still will run only for three or four minutes before either going completely dark or reverting to one green blinking light on the bottom key of the left column of keys. Sometimes, it will spontaneously recover for a few seconds only to go dark again. I've tested the cable between the Tau and the base station with continuity tester. It's just fine. I tried various USB cables, no change in behavior. I've updated the software to the most recent from TheTechnobear/EigenD github repo. Still the exact same behavior. Honestly, I'm about ready to feed it to the wood chipper.

Is there a way to have some sort of "presets" with eigenharp that can be recalled via MIDI?

Is there a way to have some sort of "presets" with eigenharp that can be recalled via MIDI? Basically - I would like to send in a program change into my Eigenharp and it would switch to specific scale/key/instrument combination. If it's not possible via midi - how would it be done via any other remote protocol OSC, or something proprietary to eigenlabs?

Hi Eigenharpists

Hi Eigenharpists Finally built a hackintosh and reconnected with my Tau last night. It was great to fire it up again, but there's an issue: it doesn't seem to play software the software synth. I downloaded the latest eigend 2 from eigenlabs and everything else seems fine. When I scan for plugins it finds alchemy, however when I select it, it doesn't come up and nothing sounds. It's like it can see the AU but is missing something to make it actually work. Everything else, drums, piano, clarinet seems to be fine. Cello actually sounds a bit weird, but i don't often use that. I'm running El Capitan at the moment but could try an upgrade. Any ideas where to start digging?

I bought an "Xtorm AL390" battery on Amazon recently.

I bought an "Xtorm AL390" battery on Amazon recently. It arrived today, and naturally I tried it with the Eigenharp. It appears to work without any issues. I had my Tau running on battery power for 1,5 hours and the battery still showed 3 out of 4 LEDs of juice left. So since my laptop would be out of power before the Eigenharp I didn't bother test any longer. The battery is aprox. the size and weight of an ipad mini (but thicker) and has a normal european 230V AC outlet in addition to two USB power outlets. When in use, it makes a quite annoying noise. Not loud, but it got on my nerves in an otherwise quiet room. Outdoors, or tucked away in a padded bag or something I doubt it would be noticeable. Other than that I got a good impression of it. I tried to power both my Elektron boxes from it, and that appeared to work, too.
