Cleaning and dusting… One of the busiest weekends ever, shows and performance speaking. Friday afternoon was very unstable, cloudy and right after check sound rain came pouring, trusted the Alpha Hiscox case while i rescued MBP and rack with audio interface/mixing desk; real nightmare - water and electronics. Saturday no Eigenharp/musician  (LD) but even inside the theater/ control room rained!! roofs collapsed of near by shopping mall.   Sunday  the sun returned ! DoublePico for babies and toddlers in the afternoon and in the night back to Palmela Castle for the last day of the first year of Medieval Fair - Aerial Dance and Eigenharp on the Castle walls. Strong Eigenharp's, tired warrior musician…   Back to topic what Eigen maintenance cares? Cleaning methods… opinions welcome!

International shipping is a pain.   I almost took a vacation to the UK just to take the Alpha with me.   You have to apply for a federal employer ID for tax purposes, otherwise you can't declare the full value of an Alpha.   I also discovered why Eigenlabs ships the instruments basically naked, just cardboard sleeve around the case;  package volume is vastly more expensive than package weight for international.   (I originally put the case in some padding inside a 61-key synth box. DHL wanted $800 one way for it.  HAH no.)

I really want my Tau to play like a guitar. I just don't understand the software can someone write a tuning script that will tune the strings/key rows so a guitar player feels at home please. I don't mind paying something for someone to write this script. And the lights for fret markers would be sweet!!

Surface Pro 2, take 2.  This time the power management was set to maximum.  With synth, bass, piano, Aalto(basic patch), cello, clarinet and midi looping internally, the CPU meter was at about 60%.  The system CPU meter showed much less, but that is to be expected. My biggest issue is connections.  The Pico doesn't power on when through the USB hub that I have.  Does anybody use their Eigenharp through a hub?

Visual feedback… examples: How much volume, is pan to the right or to the left? How much  filter cutoff, or is it near self resonating? Either EigenD internals or external controlling a DAW. Testing here on a Pico. Agents: Latch, Midi Monitor

Darn it.. Soundplane agent (update) - 0.0.3 updates include: - improved performance/timing - experimental kyma support - breath/strips sent as t3d zones * - send data rate messages periodically only the first is really of interest to those using Kaivo/Aalto,  though I'm hoping Randy will add zone support for Kaivo and Aalto at some point, as it would be useful for the soundplane Kyma is totally experimental as i have no access to it, I don't even know if kyma is still working correctly with the soundplane, let alone my agent .. all I know is I send messages that would appear to be expected to be set in the code :) as always read the README supplied with the package for details. A sneak peek of something Im working on http://youtu.be/kYSYonoSBqU I like using the Eigenharp as a performance controlling surface, but some things are a bit fiddly (small buttons, not so great feedback) I tried an iPad (with Lemur/TouchOSC etc) but too small. I don't want to use a laptop/computer. So decided on an Ableton Push... not only does it have a grid with good size buttons, and lots of extra buttons, slider... but also endless encoders and most importantly a LCD matrix display so you can see whats happening. Ive been super impressed with it in Live, and how it improves your workflow, using live without looking at the computer :) So decided... I want it for EigenD too :) Stage one... modify my midi device agent to support sending light 'midi messages', hook it up my eigenharp setup, using it for arranger and also a playing surface.  (this also allows me to check menus etc work) - the video shows the essential stage in action.
