Is it possible to connect a pico directly to a syntnesizerrack, maybe a motif rack by yamaha?

Where do the Resources go in a Windows install?

Where do the Resources go in a Windows install? Also Mark, is there a pre-compiled community release? I've found a 2.1.1 installer that I kept from some time in the past.

I'm experimenting with getting various samples and VST's working with EigenD to get used to working with them, but since I'm using EigenD on my laptop with Windows, I'm running into some limitations since that version of EigenD is 32-bit only. Are there any work-arounds or methods to get 64-bit DAW's and other programs to communicate with EigenD? Also, will there be any updates to EigenD that will extend support to 64-bit Windows in due time I'm not sure how often Eigenlabs updates their software.

Hello!

Hello! Still rather new to the Eigenharp, but having a blast learning what I can put into it! Got a Tau some time ago. I've been experimenting with VST's and saw mention of Native Instruments' Kontakt and Reaktor 6 players. When I have Eigend search them out, though, they come back as failed plugins. I've seen this happen with a couple other VST's I tried out as well. I saw something on the other forums mentioning that Eigend maybe doesn't support 64-bit plugins, so that's my best guess on why it doesn't work. Anybody have advice on how to troubleshoot failed plugins or get them working?

Have a strange tech issue, and looking for some insight.

Have a strange tech issue, and looking for some insight. My main rig is a Win10 64 rig. Well, the other day, inexplicably my Tau stopped working. The PSU shows up in device manager, but it can't connect to EigenD. I have tried reinstalling the drivers, EigenD, tried different USB ports, Different versions of the driver, tried the "with audio capable firmware" driver, and the with "extension mode firmware" driver, versions 1, 1.0.1, completely uninstalling and scrubbing drivers and files, and reinstalling, 8 different USB ports and cable combos... Nothing. Move it over to a laptop, running same versions, and everything works. It just simply will not work whatsoever on my main rig, and WAS working fine up until Thursday. No, no windows update in that time, and no other USB device is having trouble. So, before I have to throw a "hail mary" and completely reinstall my OS hoping that the problem goes away, can anyone think of ANYTHI...

New to this whole thing.

New to this whole thing. I bought an Alpha and it just came. I'm having absolutely no luck getting it working. Here's what I have done: -- Downloaded and installed 2.1.7 community version. -- Downloaded resources, and put them into /usr/local/pi (with csrutil disabled). -- Re-enabled csrutil. I can open EigenD no problem, and the Alpha lights up. But ... no sounds. Each key lights beautifully when I press it. I'm in High Sierra on a desktop Mac (maybe a year old). I'm not fluent AT ALL in programming stuff, so a lot of the posts I'm reading here are confusing me. Does anyone have any step by step advice? I would be SO appreciative. --Dan

I just installed EigenD on my Raspberry Pi running Raspbian Stretch.

I just installed EigenD on my Raspberry Pi running Raspbian Stretch. I'm no linux guy, so to help other newbies I made a suggestion for updated rPI install instructions: 4.5 - Linux (ARM) Installing on Raspbian Stretch PREPARATIONS Copy "EigenD-gpl-2.1.7-community-arm.deb" and "linux_eigend.sh.txt" to a memory stick. Rename "linux_eigend.sh.txt" to "linux_eigend.sh". INSTALLING Plug the memory stick into the Raspberry. It should be mounted automatically with the path "/media/pi/(name of stick)". To install EigenPi, type "cd /media/pi/(name of stick)" and then "sudo dpkg -i EigenD-gpl-2.1.7-community-arm.deb". EigenD should now reside in /usr/local/pi/release-2.1.7-community Copy the startup script linux_eigend.sh to the EigenD folder by typing "sudo cp /media/pi/(name of stick)/linux_eigend.sh /usr/local/pi/release-2.1.7-community". Set some file access rights needed by EigenD by typing "sudo chmod...

Hi!

Hi! My friend just gave me his pico (he has never used it) and I'm setting it up. I've spent several days going through the web, forum, wikis, g+ groups and github. I need help because I only manage to play one setup with one instrument My current status is this: - I have a Mac Book Air with MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6 - After many crashes i managed to instal the EigenD, following the instructions for the latest community release ( http://www.eigenlabs.com/forum/threads/id/1507/?page=1#snap_post12346 ) - Now when I plug the Pico it turns on. It loads the standard setup but no sound. - The only setup that works is Example Setups - Modular Synth (where there's only 1 instrument) - The Eigen Browser shows only Factory Loops and User Loops folder but both are empty I also tried it in a Windows laptop I have. There I can see all kinds of setups in the browser, but I never managed to get any sound out of it... If anybody can help I'd appreciate it!

What version of EigenD is running fine on macOS High Sierra?

What version of EigenD is running fine on macOS High Sierra? I tried to install the official EigenD Runtime package but it failed. I also tried to compile EigenD community bits from github but it also failed (due to some python issue, but frankly I didn't spend much time debugging it).

One of the keycaps on my Tau has gone mysteriously missing.

One of the keycaps on my Tau has gone mysteriously missing. I just noticed it this morning, and spend a couple hours going over the floor carefully looking for it. No dice. Is it possible to order a replacement keycap? Couldn't find anything on the site.

Can someone remind me how to change the scales attached to the scale talker in the factory setup now that the EigenBrowser doesn't work. Ideally I'd like to pick from the named list, rather than have to figure out the semitone ofssets. The Global Scale Talker refers to a set of variables which I'm assuming are related? The Scale Manager displays a single scale name, but changing this doesn't seem to have any effect.

Hey guys! So someone from the Eigenlabs forums directed me to here. Reposting... I want my Eigenharp Pico to play the piccolo. So I've researched online for soundfonts to load into the sampler. I've found some decent fonts, but when loaded to the Eigenharp they're all controlled by the keys only, and not by the mouthpiece like the clarinet sound built into the Eigenharp. When using the mouthpiece together with the keys, it just create a bit longer sound, but it doesn't have the same function as the mouthpiece in the clarinet. Is there a way to use the piccolo soundfont I've downloaded with the mouthpiece functionality of the clarinet? Thank you for your help!

Just a thought about using the breath capabilities of our instruments in a possibly helpful way, especially if you can play harmonica? The technical question to make scales more like harp is: Can you trigger a different note on the same key by drawing breath in on the breath tube or vocal? a scale would become: C. D E F G A B C2 blow draw blow draw blow draw draw blow. a whole scale with 4 keys. Any thoughts folks? I've been digging around in workbench trying to find a way with little luck is this possible with bel canto ? or does an agent need to be written for it? Thanks very much, Tefman

When starting up EigenD in Experimental setup (MIDI basic-mode), the lowest five buttons on the Alpha are lit.

When starting up EigenD in Experimental setup (MIDI basic-mode), the lowest five buttons on the Alpha are lit. The EigenD description says: "The main keyboard has five orange coloured keys that have been configured as three-dimensional MIDI CC controllers where each axis sends out data to a dedicated CC number." It seems to me that the buttons have no specific functions. Nothing happens when I use them. I use this mode to record the alpha in Logic Pro. I´m not dependent of some special function of those buttons, just want to know how to use them.

Geert Bevin, I recently stumbled across a video of you doing a presentation where you had a strummer setup going into Cubase 8 and had managed to get per note expression working. Well, I recently moved to Cubase 9 Pro from Live for a number of reasons, including the possibility of per note expression. Unfortunately the video quality was not fantastic, and your explanation of your setup was kind of lost in the general room noise. I'm wondering if you might share some details on how you set up the track / mapped the alpha, because I am more than a little lost in the track settings. I'd like to get the breath control / expressiveness working like your setup seemed to be doing. It must have been a while back. Any advice would be much appreciated. In the meantime, I'll keep poking at all these new settings and see if I can figure it out. LOL

I really need some help to get the Alpha into Logic and start recording tracks.

I really need some help to get the Alpha into Logic and start recording tracks. I just don't get it. I've gone through the reference guide, watching a lot of videos on YouTube, including the seminar "Using the Eigenharp with DAW´s". I'm using Alchemy on AU 1 and Madrona Labs Aalto on AU 2. All works just fine when I´m playing right through the computer. But I don't know how to record it. There is no problem to record my guitars via my Antelope ZenTour sound card. The alpha routing is just: Alpha - Base Station Pro - MacBook Pro. Is there anyone out there who can guide me through it step by step?

Anyone willing to help me setup a Raspberry Pi or BeagleBone Black for use with the Pico?

Anyone willing to help me setup a Raspberry Pi or BeagleBone Black for use with the Pico? Would probably not need much assistance but a few key things remain confusing to me. Alternatively, would like spend a bit of money to get a prepared SD card. Kai Drange? Mark Harris? Yes, it’s understood that some things aren’t fully baked, yet. Don’t want to be impatient. Perfectly willing to try stuff and, despite appearances, been able to get some fairly involved things to work. But, for some reason, my attempts at getting EigenD or MEC to work on Raspbian have failed. Been having a lot of fun with my Blokas pisound, especially with MODEP (MOD Emulation for pisound). It’s like a virtual pedal which accepts LV2 plugins, including synths and MIDI effects. Just the thing for my wind controller setup. Been using it extensively with my Yamaha WX-11 and been dreaming of using it with my Pico. The Bela-enhanced BeagleBone Black would be another option. Thanks a lot for any help!

Hi all - I recently picked up a secondhand Pico and I'm looking for portable solutions.

Hi all - I recently picked up a secondhand Pico and I'm looking for portable solutions. I'm hoping I can use it with a 2GB Windows 8 Linx tablet via its micro-USB, but I'm thinking I might need to supplement the power, perhaps with a Y-cable and a USB power pack. Has anyone got a Pico running on a small Windows tablet...? Seems like a natural fit, but I've seen no mention of it...
